Wynonna Earp season 2 trailers

Since we are less than a week away from the Wynonna Earp season 2 premiere, there are not one but two trailers out there to tie us over until we see Wynonna Earp season 2 episode 1.

The first trailer (video below) combines scenes from season 1 and season 2 to give us a taste of the tone the show will have once the new season premieres. And from this Wynonna Earp season 2 promo, we can also gather that season 2 of the show might be all about our heroes trying to break the Earp curse.

Then the second trailer (video below), refreshes our memory on what this show is all about. And it also again, gives us a sneak peek of the adventures our characters will have on Wynonna Earp season 2.

Casting news

New seasons of any show usually come with new cast members to shake up the dynamics between the characters we have come to love during the previous season. And Wynonna Earp season 2 is no different.

Besides Melanie Scofano, Dominique Provost-Chalkley, Shamier Anderson, Tom Rozon and Katherine Barrell being back as Wynonna, Waverly, Deputy Marshall Dolls, Doc Holliday and Officer Haught respectively, we will see new faces in Purgatory in the sophomore season of the show. For example, Tamara Duarte will be joining our hero team as Rosita Bustillos, Doc’s new recruit. And Varun Saranga will be playing Jeremy Chetri, someone who is working with the Black Badge Division.

What can we expect to see on Wynonna Earp season 2?

Finally, let’s talk a bit about what we can look forward to seeing on Wynona Earp season 2. Although we don’t have a ton of information on this, because nobody likes spoilers, there are a few things we can deduct from what the show’s executive producer Emily Andras have told in interviews.

Firstly, we can expect the second season to be all about free will and teamwork. Adras told Variety that on season 2 they concentrated on the characters being able to make their own decisions and exploring the main core team deeper, while also shaking things up among the team by having “weird pair-ups”. And one of the shakeups will be Rosita, who “shows up and shakes up a lot of relationships on the show”.

Wynonna Earp

For all the WayHaught fans out there, on Wynonna Earp season 2 we will get more of our favorite couple. Because Waverly and Nicole Haught will be dating and exploring how to navigate this new relationship. As for the other Earp sister, Wynonna’s path on season two will be all about “becoming a leader and bringing the team together — and does that feel natural”.

Thirdly and finally, Andras also briefly touched on the overall tone of season 2 of Wynonna Earp. Revealing that the stakes will be higher than ever. As well as that the main underlying question of the season will be “Can you ever be a good person if you’re someone who is forced to make life-and-death decisions?”. Sound’s exciting, right? So it is a good thing that we only have to wait until this Friday to see the first episode of Wynonna Earp season 2.
