The game of TV show renewal or cancellation has officially begun. First of the major commercial TV networks The CW has announced the list of shows they are renewing for another season. And this is only the first of five waves, that will soon be soaring through the media. TV big wigs like NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox are yet to break the silence as to which shows we will be able to see more of and which we will need to say goodbye to. Add cable TV networks to this list and soon we will be experiencing a true information overload in regards to TV shows and their future. But what did the CW renewals entail?

What shows did The CW renew?

All four of the DC Universe superhero shows are safe, because Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be continuing to fight villains and hiding their identities on our TV screens. Additionally, the critically acclaimed show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and fan-favorite Jane the Virgin got another season. And even The CW veteran series Supernatural lives on to see another season and is extending their already impressive run. But what about other shows on this network?

Well, we know that both The Vampire Diaries and Reign are on their final seasons, so these shows will end this year. Then of course TV series like The 100, iZombie, The Originals and Riverdale are yet to premiere their new and in Rivardale’s case first seasons, so it’s too soon to say about these mid-season shows. That leaves us two shows, whose faiths are undecided as of yet.

No announcement was made about the freshman series Frequency and No Tomorrow. Of course, this was an early renewal announcement, so anything is still possible. But based on the fact that no additional episodes were ordered by the network to extend the first seasons of these shows, and the fact that ratings for these shows aren’t that good, the chances of renewal aren’t good.

I guess we will just have to wait and see how this plays out regarding these The CW renewals. Because if the shows aren’t officially renewed, they aren’t officially cancelled either.  And of course we will also be following the renewal announcements from the other four major networks, which should be coming sooner rather than later. So stay tuned as the news of the faiths your favorite TV shows break.
