What were the major TV-related things that happened this past week? A show got renewed. Killjoys got new season 3 posters. There was also a possibility of a new spinoff and a new Ray Donavan trailer. Not to mention the Haleb wedding on Pretty Little Liars and Jace’s true parentage being revealed on Shadowhunters. This is Week in Retrospect: June 12 to 18.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt gets season 4

I will kick this Week in Retrospect off with some great news for Kimmy Schmidt fans. The show got renewed for the fourth season. The Emmy-nominated Netflix show has enjoyed three awesome seasons. So let’s hope that season 4 will be just as entertaining.

New Killjoys posters

We are a week and a half away from the Killjoys season 3 premiere, which means that it was the perfect time for the show to reveal their official season 3 posters. And let me tell you, they are pretty amazing.

The first poster (image below) features not only our main trio standing in a pool of the green plasma, but it also features Dutch’s double Aneela, who will be the big bad of Killjoys season 3. Behind our Killjoys team is the RAC logo, symbolizing that this season we will be seeing them working very closely with the RAC. And at the very top of the image, there is Lucy, the trusty Killjoys ship, who might as well be the show’s fourth main character.

While the second poster shows us our RAC trio in new uniforms, standing almost on guard (picture below). While in the green plasma, which is spilled before them, Dutch’s reflection reveals Aneela, possibly indicating that Dutch and Aneela are indeed somehow linked to each other. What do you think of these new posters? Do you like them? Let me know in the comments below!

Possible The Originals spinoff

Those who are fans of The Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals probably saw this coming, but let me be the first to tell you that another spinoff might be just around the corner. How so, you ask? Well, we hear that Hope Mikaelson, the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson and Hayley Marshall, is about to hit another growth spurt. Which opens the doors for the possibility for her to have her own show.

At the moment, though, these are only rumors. The network hasn’t commented on the truth of them. However, if there comes a time when The Originals spin-off is announced, you will be able to read about it right here on the blog.

Quantico loses another cast member

It seems that the bad news for Quantico fans just keep on coming. This past week we learned that another cast member won’t be back for Quantico season 3. Pearl Thusi, who portrayed Dayana Mampasi on the sophomore season of the show, won’t be back next season. This news comes right after we got the word that Yasmibe Al Massri, who played Raina and Nimah Amin, won’t appear on season 3 of Quantico. And these two ladies could not be the last actors to leave Quantico since right now the show is undergoing some massive changes.

Ray Donavan season 5 trailer is here

Last but not least, this last week we also saw the official trailer for Showtime’s hit show Ray Donavan (video below). The fifth season of the show premieres on Sunday, August 6. So we are only a little over a month away from being able to see the whole first episode of Ray Donavan season 5 for ourselves. But while we wait, we can catch a glimpse of what to expect from the show’s fifth season via the new trailer.

Important TV moments

Haleb wedding and Aria caught black-hooded on Pretty Little Liars

There are only two episodes of Pretty Little Liars left. So no wonder Pretty Little Liars season 7 episode 18 was so intense and filled with important moments. First of all, we saw the liars catch one of their own, Aria, black-hooded and working for A.D.. Which, of course, caused the rest of the group to turn on Aria. Then we also saw police zeroing in on the liars. As well as A.D. elevating the stakes of the game, by making one of them confess, so others could go free.

Pretty Little Liars season 7

But probably the best moment of the whole episode was to see Hanna and Caleb get married, with Hanna’s mom as their witness. The Haleb wedding was sudden but sweet and simple. Perfect for them as a couple and their current situation. On top of that, we also saw the rest of our OTP’s together as well, including Spencer and Toby, which was the cherry on top of a great episode.

Jace Herondale?

The second big TV moment this past week happened on Shadowhunters because we finally learned who Jace’s real parents are. For the longest time, Jace though that he is Jace Wayland. Then he found out that his father actually is Valentine, but even that turned out to be false. Well, on Shadowhunters season 2 episode 12 we finally learned the true parentage of Jace. And it turns out that he is a Herrondale, the son of Stephen and Céline Herondale and the grandson of Imogen Herondale aka Clave’s Inquisitor.

Additionally, over the course of this episode, we saw the team officially meet Sebastian. As well as him helping Clary create new ruins again. And knowing The Mortal Instruments books, his appearance on the show will bring all kinds of chaos to our Shadowhunters team.
