Sleep might have been the theme of the latest Wynonna Earp episode, but in no way was it sleepy or boring. It had a plethora of ass kicking moments. Yet the best part was everyone finding out Wynonna’s secret. So here is my recap of Wynonna Earp season 2 episode 6.

Mission of the week
The mission of this week’s Wynonna Earp episode was to track down the person responsible for putting all of Purgatory to sleep. As well as figuring out who is breaking the seals. But despite everyone except for our heroes and the baddies being asleep, it wasn’t an easy feat to achieve.
So after Peacemaker woke Wynonna up from her slumber and Wynonna woke up the rest of the team, they went to work. Not only to find out who put whole Purgatory to sleep, but also to stay awake. Their chase led them to the Clockmaker’s mansion and to Hypnos, a very powerful demon. But as it turned out, he was just a patsy and was keeping all of Purgatory’s population asleep for the creepy black-veiled Widows, so they could break the third seal. Which was in Shory’s.
And, since Jeremy had already figured that out and passed out in Shorty’s, he, Doc and Waverly, who went t find Jeremy, were assaulted by the Widows. Leaving it up to Wynonna to save them and prevent the seal from being broken. Meanwhile, Nicole and Dolls got tasked with saving Hypnos’s daughter Poppy from Tucker Gardner and his creepy ways.
In the end, Dolls and Nicole saved Poppy and Wynonna saved Doc, Jeremy, and Waverly, by shooting one of the Widows. And the seal wasn’t broken. But the Widow threat still remains. As does the mystery of the seals. And looks like these two topics might be one of the things that will lead next week’s episode as well.
Dolls in pursuit
We all knew that Dolls same as Doc has a thing for Wynonna. But in previous episodes, he was a little preoccupied with other things to think about his feelings for Wynonna or act on them. What with being hunted by Lucado, almost turning into a fire-breathing lizard and then the Earp sisters being possessed by a demon. However, on this episode, he finally had a moment to breathe and a chance to really go for it.
So on Wynonna Earp season 2 episode 6, we saw Dolls asking Wynonna to a diner to talk. Which basically meant that Dolls was asking her out on a date. And although my WynDolls lover heart was ecstatic about this, it didn’t turn out so great for them. Because Wynonna is, in fact, pregnant with Doc’s (probably?) child. Which made her act all kinds of crazy towards Dolls. And the sleeping curse, which made Wynonna’s pregnancy apparent, didn’t help much either.
And when Dolls found out about Wynonna’s situation, he pretty much reacted how anyone would if they found out the woman they love is carrying another man’s child. Luckily, we still got a WynDolls kiss and heard Dolls tell Wynonna that she is amazing. So, there might still be hope for the two. And who knows, maybe the baby isn’t Docs and WynDolls ends up happening. That’s a possibility on a show like Wynonna Earp, right?
WayHaught on track
After the demon possession of last week’s episode on Wynonna Earp season 2 episode 6, we finally saw WayHaught back together without a demon threatening to ruin their relationship.
I really loved how this episode not only gave us some steamy Waverly and Nicole scenes but that it also showed them talking about what happened to Waverly. It is only understandable that Nicole wondered if what they had while Waverly was possessed by Mictian was real. And I adored that she out and asked Waverly about it and didn’t keep it bottled up inside like we see TV characters do so many times.
On top of that, the way Waverly answered Nicole was also sweet yet reassuring. It gave Nicole a piece of mind, as well as reassured us, the viewers, that WayHaught isn’t going anywhere. So it looks like Waverly and Nicole’s relationship might be the one relationship to survive all the craziness that is happening in the Ghost River Triangle.
The Earp sister bond
This season the bond between the Earp sisters has been stronger than ever. Even despite Waverly being possessed by a demon half the time. And it really showed during Wynonna Earp season 2 episode 6 as well, because on this episode we saw Waverly help Wynonna deal with the fact that she is pregnant and everything that that entails.
I feel like on season 1 Wynonna and Waverly were reconnecting and finding their groove as sisters. But then at the end of the season, Willa came back and their relationship took a hit again. Luckily, it looks like season 2 is all about the Earp sisters supporting and protecting each other. And since Wynonna has a lot to deal with – killing demons, finding out what the hell is happening in the Ghost River Triangle, navigating her relationship with Doc and Dolls and being pregnant – I am glad that Waverly is there to help her.
I just hope that even if it turns out that Waverly isn’t an Earp, their close relationship will still remain. Because as much as Wynonna likes to think that Waverly needs her to protect her, in reality, Wynonna needs Waverly as well. Not to protect her, but to help Wynonna make sense of what is happening and to help Wynonna better navigate the mess that is her life.
Last thoughts on Wynonna Earp season 2 episode 6
The thing that I really loved about Wynonna Earp season 2 episode 6 was how the show made each character’s reaction to Wynonna being pregnant different and true to that character. It gave a sense of realness and authenticity to the situation. And it also showed that although the Wynonna Earp is about demons and curses, it still is based in reality and features real people with real emotions and problems.
