Who’s in charge?

Single Parents is an ensemble series both on screen and off. Because, same as on screen, behind-the-scenes this upcoming comedy features a great group of people. The series was created by Liz Meriwether and J.J. Philbin. Who also executive produces the show alongside Katharine Pope and Jason Winer. With the latter directing the pilot episode of the new sitcom. And the production studios responsible for this project are ABC Studios and 20th Century Fox TV.

What’s this show about?

Based on a story by J.J. Philbin and Liz Meriwether, Single Parents follows five single parents as they band together to help each other raise their 7-year-old kids. Each of the parents is extremely different. But together they form a family that lets them actually have adult lives outside of being parents. Even if just for a moment.

Who’s playing who?

When it comes to the on-screen talent for Single Parents, you will see many familiar faces gracing your TV screen. Because the main adult cast consists of Leighton Meester, Taran Killam, Brad Garrett, Kimrie Lewi, and Jake Choi. While the kids of the single parents are played by Marlow Barkley, Devin Trey Campbell, Ella and Mia Allen, and Tyler Wladis.

Meester will play Angie. She’s a long-time single mom who knows how to hustle to make ends meet, and is on a mission to protect her son from the outside world as long as she can. Killam will portray Will, a 30-something single dad who has lost himself and his manhood to being a father to his daughter. Garrett will star as Douglas. He’s a wealthy retiree with an old-school view of the world who uses his wallet to fix all his problems.

With Lewi taking on the role of Poppy. And Choi playing Miggy. Poppy is a free-spirited single mother who ensures that her son is always being himself. And Miggy is an overworked and sleep-deprived single dad to his newborn son.
