Who doesn’t love a good spy movie? Or better yet one that highlights the cat-and-mouse game between a spy and the officer chasing him? We definitely do! Which is why we are excited that NBC is bringing us a series like that this upcoming spring. Want to know more about The Enemy Within and what’s this fast-paced show is all about? Who’s in charge?

Created and written by Ken Woodruff The Enemy Within hails from Universal Television. And is executive produced by Woodruff as well as Matt Corman, Charles Beeson, and Chris Ord. With Mark Pellington directing and executive producing the pilot episode alongside Vernon Sanders.

What’s this show about?

This new thriller centers on Erica Shepherd. She’s a brilliant ex-CIA operative who betrayed her country and now bides her time in a Supermax prison. Until FBI Agent Will Keaton seeks her out to help him track down an extremely dangerous and hard-to-catch criminal who Shepherd knows. So now Keaton and Shepherd have to work together despite the resentment they feel towards one another to catch the spy and bring him to justice. Even if they have to start thinking like spies themselves.

Who’s playing who?

The Enemy Within features a whole lineup of great actors like Morris Chestnut, Jennifer Carpenter, Raza Jaffrey, Cassandra Freeman, Noah Mills, and Kelli Garner. Carpenter and Chestnut will take on the leading roles of Erica Shepherd and Will Keaton. Despite her intelligence and skills, Erica Shepherd, who learned codebreaking from her father, got caught disclosing highly-sensitive information to an ex-Russian intelligence agent. So now she’s known as the most notorious traitor in American history and is serving a life sentence in federal prison. Will Keaton was the agent who brought Shepherd to justice and lost his fiance in the process. He now leads his own FBI counter-intelligence team that chases down those who commit acts of espionage against the United States.

On Keaton’s team are Ali Ziai, Jaqueline Pettigrew, Kate Ryan, and Jason Bragg. Ali Ziai, played by Jaffrey, is the team’s resident interrogator, who specializes in using empathy rather than intimidation to extract secrets from those he interrogates. Freeman will play Jaqueline Pettigrew. She comes from a police family and is Keaton’s newest recruit. Mills is taking on the role of Jason Bragg. An ambitious yet extremely efficient member of FBI’s Counterintelligence Division whose brashness might just cost him his spot on Keaton’s team. While Kate Ryan’s played by Kelli Garner. She is a technical analyst who works hard and is open to any and all ideas that get thrown her way.

The latest on The Enemy Within

Although not that much is known about NBC’s latest drama yet, we do know that the network has picked it up for series. And that the show will premiere on Monday, February 25 at 10/9 central on NBC.
