Avengers: Infinity War is easily the biggest movie of the decade. And how could it not be? It features whopping 76 characters from all the past 18 MCU movies. So I thought that if there ever was a time to break away from my usual TV show realm and write something about a movie, then the release of Infinity War is IT! And before you ask, no this isn’t an Avengers: Infinity War review. This is my Infinity War reaction after I got to see the movie ahead of its worldwide release tomorrow, on April 27. So here it goes!
Tvshowpilot’s Avengers: Infinity War reaction
The phrase “It all been leading to this” was taunted a lot during the promo period for this film. And after seeing the Avengers: Infinity War movie I get why they chose this phrase. Because really it all HAS been leading to Avengers 3. This movie is hugely massive. And with it, Marvel has achieved the seemingly impossible when it comes to comic-book team-up movies. They have made a film that works. That gives every single one of the superhero characters featured in it a moment to shine. And that has a storyline and stakes that feel big enough to warrant so many characters in one body of work.
Like I already tweeted out, Infinity War is basically like you’re watching multiple movies at once. And that goes for all aspects of it. The music. The visuals. The tone. Everything. And then, by the end of it, all these pieces fall into place and culminate into an enormous and quite literary Infinity War-sized end sequence. And the end? What can I say about the ending of Infinity War so I don’t spoil anything?
Well, I can say that Infinity War ends in a way that could only be described as jaw-dropping, unexpected, and universe-changing. Something happens that I didn’t think Marvel had the guts to do. But they did it anyway. And it really paid off, because my mind is still spinning with the possibilities of what the MCU will look like going forward. And will probably continue to do so for quite some time.
Infinity War highlights
One of the highlights of Avengers: Infinity War for me was how both funny and emotional the movie was. Marvel is well-known for their humor, which has truly come out to play in the last few MCU movies. And Infinity War definitely did not disappoint in that department. The jokes landed. As well as gave just enough comic relief for you to prepare for the next emotional blow.
Speaking of those, they were definitely there. And not just at the end of the film, which should be expected. Because all throughout the movie comedic moments danced with emotional and at times painful ones, creating a plot that takes you on a roller-coaster of a ride. And leaves you feeling like you had a great time but are also in a slight state of shock well after the movie is over.
While the other highlight of Infinity War for me was the non-avangerness of it all. Sure, Infinity War could just as well be labeled as Avengers 3, which means that Earth’s mightiest heroes were front and center all through the film. Yet, at the same time, it didn’t feel like an Avengers movie at all. And I say that in a good way. Because it meant that it kept the audience on its toes. And Infinity War didn’t feel like any of the previous Avengers or other Marvel Cinematic Universe films.
Last words on Avengers: Infinity War
To conclude this Avengers: Infinity War reaction, I would like to say to just enjoy the ride that this movie takes you on. It will be fun, it will be sad, but most of all it will be worth the two and a half hours spent in the movie theater. If you have a favorite MCU character, rest assured he or she will have their moment to shine eventually. Don’t forget to stay until the very, very end of the movie. Because there is just one post-credits scene, and it is after all the credits have rolled. And let me know what you thought of Avengers: Infinity War once you get to see it in the comments below or on social media!
