CBC’s Heartland season 11 is a go

Heartland fans rejoice, it’s official Heartland season 11 is happening. Amber Marshall, star of the hit series, announced that Heartland has been picked up for season 11 this morning via a video on the show’s social media accounts. In the video, Amber thanked the fans for watching season 10 and informed us that Heartland season 11 will be starting on CBC this coming fall. See the short yet oh so important video below.

Amber’s announcement video

Fans of the show have been waiting for this announcement for a while now, fearing that season 11 might not come. But, if you look at the show’s ratings for season 10 as well as fan reactions to all that happened on this season, could there really not be season 11? On top of that, this announcement of Heartland season 11 couldn’t have come at a better time because this Sunday, March 26, is the air date for the last episode of the show’s current season. So now we can all tune in this Sunday without fear and just enjoy Heartland season 10 episode 18.

Now that we know that we will be able to follow the Bartlett-Fleming-Morris-Borden family and their adventures for another season, what do you want to see happen on Heartland season 11? And what are you most excited about to see come next fall? Let me know in the comments or on social media!

My Heartland season 11 expectations

I know I can’t wait to see Amy and Ty raising their newborn child and all the antics that sure will come with that. Additionally, I would love to see Georgie having an even bigger part in helping Amy with horses and maybe see her working with her own client horses. When it comes to Lou, I would really like to see her relationship with Mitch bloom, as well as her continuing to peruse Maggie’s 2.0. It sure will be interesting to watch the business side of things for Lou now that Peter is on the verge of becoming an investor in Maggie’s franchise. As for the two oldest Heartland generation, it would be great to see Tim’s rodeo school growing. And I would also love to see Jack take up a new hobby or responsibility, that could provide some interesting and potentially hilarious story lines for the character.

Moreover, in the last couple of Heartland seasons, we have seen some previously unexplored horse disciplines and breeds. For example, we had an episode on Medieval jousting in season 9. And just recently Heartland season 10 episode 16 introduced Canadian Horse breed. So it would be amazing if Heartland season 11 would continue that tradition and give us more interesting horse breeds and equestrian sports.

P.S. In case you want to freshen your memory on what happened on previous Heartland season before season 11 starts, check out the DVD for Heartland season 10!

  1. I have watched all 9 seasons on UP and then watched season 10 online. I’m 69 and can’t get enough of it. The bad thing is, I live in the US and up won’t have any more seasons. Will there be a channel I can watch it on? I love watching it with my grandson. With so much going on here in the states, it’s wonderful to get away from it all. Please keep up the good work.

    1. Thanks, Vicki! And I hear you about Heartland being a great escape.
As for will there be a channel in the US on which you will be able to watch Heartland season 11? It’s hard to say at this point, but if I learn anything about this, I will definitely blog about it!

  3. I love Heartland , I am from Argentina And I cannot wait for the new season . Great family show ,lovely places , beautiful horses, people with true love for the land . No foul language , no sex .

    1. Usually, after the new season has aired in Canada, then a broadcaster in the States gets to air it (for season 10 it was UP), because Canada gets each season exclusively before anyone else. So I would say that you will be able to watch Heartland season 11 in the United States some time next spring.

  4. me and my friend are so in love with this show but we live in Australia do know when or if It is coming out here?

    1. As the BW mentioned on her second-to-last post (LINK to it here: http://www.cbc.ca/heartland/blog/your-questions-answered-part-two), season 10 will be available in Australia soon through the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), since they are the primary Australian broadcaster. And only then it might appear on Netflix, since they are a secondary broadcaster and can’t make a show available before ABC has aired it.

  5. My 10 year old daughter and I have very much enjoyed all 10 seasons of Heartland and are anxiously waiting for more. It is our moment of the day together, relaxing and enjoying a great story. The characters have a real warm feeling with traditional family values that make me finally look forward to watching tv. Thank you for this wonderful show. What I expect of the story?
I wish Lou would relax and take things as they come and learn not to be so controlling. I love Georgie and her amazing character and wish to see her accomplishing more and more. Will enjoy seeing Ty and Amy being wonderful parents. Love Jack’s stories, his wisdom and the way he gives encouragement without changing the tone of his voice. Miss Ashley and her vibrant personality. Like Jade, Cassandra, Caleb, Lisa, Mallory and Jake. Keep up the great work!

    1. Thanks, Renata! And I one hundred percent agree with all you said in your comment.

  6. I think Lou needs to be with new ranch hand her and Peter to different and never really been happy keep her and the new ranch hand become a family!

  7. I have watched this show over and over since finding it on Netflix, I watched all the seasons thru 9 and even watched 10 on you tube even tho they sound like Donald Duck talking lol. Copywriting I guess. I’m 62 and a previous horse owner, had my mares TENN walkers, for 13 yrs. had to rehome them due to divorce, they were my life. Watching HeArtland has convinced me that I’m missing a big part of my life and I’m determined to own and give my love to another horse, Amy and Ty and all the couples are amazing, can’t wait to see season 10 again and 11 on Netflix….I’m addicted to this show. Makes my heart feel good and wish I had my own ranch.

  8. I watch heartland every day of my life it is a show that you can sit back and watch heartland is so inspiring in season 11 I need to see what they Amy and Ty’s baby in named, Amber Marshall is my favorite actress she is so inspiring I would love to be her season 10 is by far the best season my favorite episode in the one that Ty got has to got on the hospital I also like the one that Amy has the baby season 10 episodes 8 and 9 love is so beautiful and I hope new people start watch it real soon

  9. I simply love Heartland. I’m in South Africa and I watch it on Netflix…almost done with Season 9. I fell in love with the horses first, the rest came second but it grows on you and you become enveloped in this world where, yes, there is heartache and reality to deal with but without the ugliness and vulgarity that most shows offer. Good wholesome entertainment. Even when a show has a twist or something sad happens I end up happier for watching it. It’s that aaahhhh moment when I can just breathe out and relax. I am such a huge fan of this series and I’m glad that I clicked on it when I scrolled through Netflix looking for something worthwhile to watch! I caught a winner! Thank you for all the actors and screenwriters for keeping us entertained. I would love to see more horse breeds and sports involving horses and of course more of all our friends on Heartland I love!

    1. I feel the same, Adéle. I always feel so good after I watch an episode even if, like you said, something sad happens in it. And that’s why I love Heartland so much!

  10. I love this show I wish Lou a Peter were still together but I am really liking Mitch I first saw show and I herd people talking about and I loved it when I was on episode eleven season one my mom joined in and we would watch like 7 episodes a night
